Where do NTS Supporter Funds Go?

Modified on Tue, 2 Jul at 1:03 PM

After an average 13% commission fee to Paypal, Apple or Stripe*, 50% of all Supporter funds are paid out directly to the people that make NTS what it is: NTS resident hosts. The remainder is reinvested back into NTS, split between radio content, general overheads, marketing, web development and hosting.

Funds raised through NTS Supporters make up 17% of our total income, sitting alongside revenue from partnerships, events, innovation grants, record sales and merch. These diverse revenue streams cover our growing overheads, ensuring long-term sustainability.

Ultimately, in everything we do, we aim to make discerning radio whilst remunerating artists, DJs and rights holders: whether through NTS Supporters, our events, record sales, partnerships, multi-territory licensing or any of our future plans.

You can see a better split below:

50% to Supporting Resident Hosts

Half of your contributions go directly to our resident hosts, enabling them to create the exceptional, leftfield radio content you love.

32% to Station Operations

We use these funds to cover music licensing and streaming infrastructure costs, ensuring we can broadcast legally and reliably.

5% Web and App Development

Your support helps us improve our web and app platforms, enhancing user experience and keeping the service ad-free.

5% Supporter Benefits

As an NTS Supporter, you enjoy perks like discounts on merchandise, early access to new products, and exclusive content, helping us build a loyal community.

The remaining 8% goes on general NTS overheads.

* Platform fees are highest when paying through the App Store on iOS. To get the most of the contributions directly to NTS hosts, we recommend signing up as a Supporter on desktop, paying through Stripe.
